This guy first came to my attention because he wrote the Dresden Files which I loved but that was about a warlock to hire in Chicago. The Furies series though beginning with Calderon's Fury is a pure fantasy series. The first book took a little for me to get into but once i did I was totally hooked and can highly recommend it.
